This photo album has an exuberant and playful feel. The cover paper of this album was hand silk-screened in Japan and is known as Yuzen or Chiyogami. In Japan, fireworks were originally used to ward off evil spirits and comfort the souls of the dead. The word for firework in Japanese is hanabi, which means “fire-flower”. The spine is covered in a lovely rose red bookcloth and is bound with a ¼” black double-faced satin ribbon.
The pages are made of a 100% recycled paper containing 30% post consumer content. The paper is a subtle, matte shade of black and has a nice, smooth surface. Paper filler strips have been inserted between the pages to accommodate the thickness of your added photos – this prevents the album from puffing open when filled.
All of my books are made using only the finest acid-free and archival materials. This photo album is made in the traditional style that you may recall from an earlier time – like the one your grandparents had – refined, yet functional. Your cherished memories deserve a book that’s just as meaningful.
With your purchase, you will receive a pack of self-adhesive photo corners in your choice of black, gold, silver, kraft, cream, or white.
