Bookbinding Demonstration – Stowe Street Arts Festival
July 17, 2010
Artist Demo Area
Behind the Stowe Street Emporium
I’ll be demonstrating the double-needle coptic binding at the 2010 Stowe Street Arts Festival on July 17th from 3:15 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
The coptic binding was used as early as the 2nd century AD and was developed by the Copts, early Egyptian Christians. This binding is an intricate stitch that allows books to remain flat when opened.
