Be Bold and Fold!
April 6, 2017
Studio Place Arts (SPA)
201 North Main Street
Thursday April 6, 2017: 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
The simple fold has lots of potential – it doesn’t take much to transform a piece of paper into a book. We’ll be playing in the intersection between origami and bookmaking, creating folded books that require little or no adhesive. Among the structures you’ll learn are three invented by master book artist Hedi Kyle – the Fishbone Binding, the All-in-One Book, and the Pocket Folder Booklet.
In this workshop, each participant will leave class with a completed set of books and a basic knowledge of folding and bookbinding technique. You will receive a detailed handout and resource list for all materials we use.
Experience in origami is helpful, but not required.
