Worktable Wednesday

Today I continued work on my gifted leather journals. This time I made a small batch with some thick brown leather.

On these books, I used a Keith Smith binding called Triple Parquet. I modified it a little bit, so it’s more like a double/triple parquet.

The closure for these journals is a leather cord that wraps around the book and tucks in the front.

I wish I could remember the person who gave me the leather. If you’re out there, come by the studio – I’ll give you one of the journals you inspired!

Beautiful work, Elissa! Which volume of Keith Smith are you using?

Kris –

Thanks! I’m using Volume II Non-Adhesive Binding: 1-2- & 3-Section Sewings.
