Rubber stamp carving
This past weekend I was lucky enough to have family come and visit. What that usually means is that my awesome 9 year-old niece insists that I teach her a new book structure.
This time, however, she wanted to carve a rubber stamp. I led a stamp carving activity at her birthday party in November. I guess she liked it.
She’s fearless with the carving tools, while I keep freaking out whenever she’s pointed toward her hand. I try to keep my studio a blood-free zone. Luckily, there were no injuries resulting from the activity. 🙂
It makes me feel so good that my niece is interested in my work and wants to learn from me. Maybe she’ll end up as a bookbinder too…
