Worktable Wednesday

Today was an accordion book day, which is typical for the weeks preceding Open Studio Weekend. I’ve been working with some fun and colorful papers!

There’s mucho folding going on.

For whatever reason, I hate to admit how much I love my scoring board. It has made some tasks sooo much easier…

Martha Stewart Scoring Board

…but it’s a Martha Stewart product.

[start rant]

I have a love-hate relationship with Martha Stewart. I love her style, but I don’t like theย รผber-perfect image she projects – as if she could actually do all that stuff by herself. No one can live up to that image and it’s discouraging.

Damn you and your super-awesome score board.

[end rant]

Ha Elissa! I have the same scoring board…and did the same rant! It’s great except that it’s plastic. The grooves wear down after a while and it makes wanky scores. I’d love one in metal (and without Martha’s name attached!).

Ooohhh…a metal one – I’d buy that! Bummed to hear about the grooves pooping out. ๐Ÿ™

O kindred spirit,
O binder friend,
‘Tis ever the unexpected trifle
That proves the grit in the pearl

That keeps the wit sharp
And the scorer warm with rythmed work

Fear not the irritation
of the Martha Stewart abomination

It is a gift to your focus
From the universe.

Huh. I would never have given that scoring board a second look if you hadn’t mentioned it, so skeptical am I of the entire Martha Stewart franchise. But after I read this I had to order one, and darned if it doesn’t actually make tasks like folding accordions a breeze. (And I didn’t really enjoy folding accordions.) Thanks, Elissa!

My pleasure. ๐Ÿ™‚

The thing provokes a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde response in me – I hate you! I love you! You are awesome and you suck!

Elissa

So what do you think? I'd love to know!
