Worktable Wednesday

For the past week, I was very fortunate to have taken a much-needed vacation to Disney World. The hubby and I spent six days in the parks, with one day dedicated to each (4 days in theme parks, 2 days in water parks). I had so much fun.

So we got in late tonight from our flight home and there was no studio action. I won’t leave you hanging though…I do have some bookbinding fun for you.

While we were at Hollywood Studios, we went on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride. I had read about the ride and it was recommended that you pay attention to the details while at the attraction.

Before you go on the elevator part of the ride, you are brought into a queuing area that’s set up like a library. The dark room is full of dusty books and antiques. I quickly scanned the book titles, trying to see if there were any funny titles or hidden Mickeys.

All of a sudden, my gaze rested on a book press!

To say I was surprised is an understatement. I immediately started yelling at my husband to get out his camera (mine broke on the first day). While everyone was exiting the library to board the ride, I kept the cast members waiting while I took a picture.

Being the nerd I am, within a few minutes I started complaining:

There was a book press with a book in it, but there were no tools nearby. That makes no sense. Where’s the bone folder? Where’s the glue? This is stupid.

My poor husband. He stated the obvious, that it was just a prop and they didn’t really know what it was.

And being me, I refused to acknowledge it.

Hmmm…maybe I’ll write Disney a letter and offer suggestions on how they can improve their attraction…

So what do you think? I'd love to know!
