Today marked a rather early start to my annual studio inventory. I’ve purchased somewhere around ten yards of bookcloth in the past couple of weeks and decided to count what I had in stock before putting the new stuff away.
Bookcloth nostalgia = yay. I love my bookcloth.
As you can might see on my worktable, I received some other new goodies this week:
- Japanese washi tape (the orange and green rolls)
- Red & white baker’s twine – This stuff reminds me of the boxes of cookies my grandparents would bring us when they visited from Brooklyn.
- Craft Corps, by Vicki Howell (ISBN 1600594689) – The book features interviews with 30 professional craft artists. I was lucky enough to get this in a trade on Swap.com.
As for my book for this week’s Book Arts Improv, my husband and I have rather enjoyed exploring a range of inappropriate options. One of them will be used. That’s all I’m going to say. And that it’s gross.
I’m aiming for another miniature book, but I don’t have a structure nailed down yet – the form/content connection just isn’t coming to me today. I think I’ll be spending some time tomorrow going through my reference books.
Come back on Saturday to see the final Improv book!
