Worktable Wednesday

This afternoon I had a hang day with two of my awesome bookbinding buddies and my original plan was to work on my book while we were at their studio. Because one of them won this week’s drawing, I didn’t bring the project with me because I want it to be more of a surprise for her.

I pinky promise that the drawing wasn’t rigged. Yes, I can hear you.

I have to say that my brain is really churning over the three creative influences for this week’s Book Arts Improv – paper addiction, Taj Mahal, and girdle. I was hoping to have everything gelling by now, but sadly I am without gel.

There are however, bits of fruit cocktail. I am pretty solid on a book structure and almost there with the color palette. I just need to sort out whether or not I’m creating a book with content. It’s a strong maybe.

These images…

Images of the Taj Mahal

…inspired this palette.

Handmade papers from India

And this awesome discovery…

Medieval book document

…was what made me super-psyched about a book form that I had totally forgotten about.

That’s all you’re getting for now. Stay tuned for the big reveal on Saturday!

Love the colour scheme. Are you going to make a girdle book? I want to see all the ins and outs of that!

Yep, it’s going to be a modified girdle book. 🙂
