Worktable Wednesday

My family is visiting this week for Thanksgiving and I wasn’t sure if I’d get into the studio today. My plan was to make Thanksgiving books with my niece and nephew, but somehow we ended up running errands all day. Meh.

I managed to sneak into the studio around 11:00 p.m. and completed eight accordion books I started earlier this week:

Hopefully I’ll be able to make books with my niece and nephew tomorrow. When I told my niece that we’d be making books, she said “I love making books!”

So frustrating when you can’t get into the studio until the wee hours! Still, I’m impressed at your midnight productivity. I do hope you get some good time in with the kids. That sort of enthusiasm in the young needs to be nourished! Happy holiday!

I did get in some bookbinding time with my niece. Unfortunately, my husband paid the price and got stuck with most of the Thanksgiving preparation.

So you have been burning the midnight oil.

I’m a binder, I taught our daughter how to bind simple notebooks when she was 6/7 years old. She’s now 16 and makes protective covers for all her own college books, as well as making journals for herself.

Happy Thanksgiving

That’s so great that your daughter has continued with the bookmaking. I’m hoping for the same with my niece. She was really proud of the book we made on Thanksgiving.

So what do you think? I'd love to know!
