I’m on Etsy!

Blue Roof Designs Etsy screenshotIt’s official – I finally have work available for purchase on Etsy! Here’s the link to my shop:

Okay, so it’s only three things but you have to start somewhere, right? I’ll be listing more items over the coming weeks (I’m still working on photos and item descriptions).

If you’ve never visited Etsy before, it’s an online marketplace for handmade items. Their slogan – Buy, Sell, and Live Handmade. Hey, I do that!

Seriously, I am feeling such a tremendous feeling of relief today.

I have wanted to get my work on Etsy for a really long time. In fact, it’s been more than 4 years since I joined Etsy. I’m not making that up, see?

For now, I’m only set up to ship to the United States. That’s mostly because I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to international shipping. I’m hoping to sort that out in the near future.

If anyone has any tips and/or advice, I’m all ears!

Your store is looking fantastic so far! (even if it did take four years to get there 🙂

For tips on shipping I recommend checking out etsy’s blog [ ] and also searching the etsy forums for personal experiences & advice from other sellers. Just about every question I had about shipping, insurance, payments, customs & other tricky stuff was answered by reading through the forums or the blog. Best of luck with everything!

Thanks so much! That means a lot coming from you. 🙂

Thanks for the advice. I plan to spend a lot more time digging through the forums and articles on Etsy. When I look at others’ Etsy shops, it sometimes seems like people aren’t charging enough. Maybe they’re adding some of the shipping cost to their prices?

It’s important to me that my item prices remain constant – people should know that when they buy my work it costs the same on Etsy, in a gallery, or at a craft show. I don’t want anyone to feel like they’re getting ripped off.

So what do you think? I'd love to know!
