Cheese Bound
Unless you’re new to my blog, I’m assuming that you’re aware of my love for cheese.
This past Sunday, I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the sold out Vermont Cheesemakers Festival. To say that it was a mind-blowing experience is putting it mildly.
I must have tasted over 50 different cheeses. I actually got to the point where I uttered the words that I have only spoken once before on a vacation to Paris in 2001: I can’t eat any more cheese.
I joked to my husband that the whole experience made me “weak in the cheese”.
[insert groan here]
I think I’ve now sufficiently recovered from my cheese coma and I’m ready to eat the goodies I brought home with me.
One of the best parts of the festival was this find from the Cellars at Jasper Hill (click on the image to enlarge):
I’m not sure why I never realized that the term “clothbound” was a bridge between my loves for bookbinding and cheese.
The world makes a lot more sense now.

from the day when, as a teen, i discovered caerphilly to years later and the quebec fromagerie at noyen, i am a cheese nut. i even made cheese from my own goats a while back!

The Cellars at Jasper Hill had the t-shirts for sale at their table, along with their super-yummy cheese. I was hoping that they’d have the t-shirts on their website, but I couldn’t find them on there. If you really want one, give them a call and I’m sure they’ll send you one. FYI – I’m keeping mine for myself.
That’s so awesome that you made cheese – I’m impressed! I don’t know anyone with a background in the cheese arts.

ya–i’m a cheesy sort! i will call about a shirt–i would NEVER expect the shirt off your back. i looked around the site and couldn’t find one.
my goats made wonderful milk and i made a soft, days old farmer cheese, and an older, two-four week old variety. there was almost NO info available for an adirondack mini-goat dairy farmer 27 years ago.
The t-shirt was a bargain too – only $10!
one is in the mail now. there will be two bookists (bookies? bookers?) out there with the shirt, both with curly hair!
